Tokyo/NYC Collaboration

I'm so excited that my painting, "Swimmer," will be flying to Japan for the Tokyo/NYC Collaboration next month!  The show is curated by Lisa Benson and Japanese curator Reno Oka and will be held at the Kamakura Gallery near Tokyo, Japan, Jan. 30. 2014 till Feb. 4th, 2014. I'm so excited to be showing in Japan!  I wish I was going to be going to the show!  I know a couple people in Japan, I'll have to see if they live close enough to go :-)

It is such an honor to have two paintings included among this amazing group of artists at Big Irv's Gallery in Brooklyn!  Jacob Hicks has curated this wonderful exhibition which includes many of my fellow artists from The New York Academy of Art.

Celebration of Canadian Whiskies at the Canadian Consulate in New York

One of my paintings was included in an exhibition at a Celebration of Canadian Whiskies held at the Canadian Consulate in New York. It was a wonderful evening of art, whiskey tasting, and drinks mixed by Jim Meehan, a New York mixologist from Death & Co.  The art exhibition was comprised of work by New York Academy of Art alumni.

I'm teaching a few painting workshops in BC this winter, in Lake Country, Nelson and Penticton.  Here are some photos from the first workshops.  Everyone did such a great job! I'm excited to start the next one on December 26th in my hometown, Nelson!

Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant!!!

I am so incredibly excited and grateful to have received another ELIZABETH GREENSHIELDS FOUNDATION GRANT!!!! I admire this foundation so much for their ongoing international support of representational figurative artists and it means so much to me to have their support. I have received funding to remain in New York for another year, as I develop a body of paintings for an upcoming show here (which I will give you more details about in the future).  I am so excited. Best Day Everrr!!
